Winser London is also to extend its relationship with South Korean department store Galleria, which chose it last autumn for Monostay, a multi-brand concept featuring European fashion brands including the Prada-owned retailer Miu Miu.
“The Korean market is trading extremely well,” said Ms Winser. “Like-for-like sales in single-brand stores there are seeing growth of 6pc-7pc, while multi-brand stores are seeing 15pc-16pc growth in womenswear.”
Ms Winser became Marks & Spencer’s youngest divisional director at the age of 30 before staging successful turnarounds at Pringle of Scotland and Aquascutum.
She said the Gerrards Cross shop, opened last May, was envisaged as a showroom for website sales but has racked up nearly £200,000 of takings, while there has also been unexpected interest overseas.
“I wanted to make sure we looked after everything before doing the next stage, so we said we wouldn’t export but would start with UK distribution only, “ she said.
Winser London is also in discussions about selling in Europe and elsewhere in Asia.
Ms Winser said that the company had seen “very strong trading” over Christmas. “I want this to be a successful global business and I expect it to be growing at quite a pace for many, many years,” she said.
