Director of asset allocation at Fidelity, Trevor Greetham, says the volatility seen in the major stock markets could continue.
He said there was some need for extra stimulus in the US or evidence that the US economy is going to a "new level".
However, Mr Greetham said that the big picture showed that the US is recovering while China slows. This is good for global equities and a "challenge" for commodities and emerging markets.
