Bloomberg's Paul Kedrosky has discussed the valuation in the light of a subpoena related to alleged illegal sexual activity in Airbnb rental apartments .
The San Francisco-based business started six years ago when a group of graduates rented out sleeping space in their flat to help pay rent. It has since attracted a string of high-profile investors as part of the fundraising.
