LOS ANGELES — The next round in a widening legal fight over sexual abuse accusations in Hollywood is now set for 2 p.m. on Monday. At that time, the lawyer who in a lawsuit last week accused the filmmaker Bryan Singer of drugging and raping his client in 1999 expects to announce additional lawsuits at a news conference in Beverly Hills.

Jeff Herman, the lawyer for Michael Egan, who was 17 at the time of the alleged abuse, said on Saturday that defendants in the new suits would include “Hollywood business types,” whom he did not further identify. The complaints, he said, would be filed on Monday in the United States District Court in Hawaii, where the suit against Mr. Singer was filed last week.

On Friday, Martin D. Singer, who represents Mr. Singer — the director of “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” set for release by 20th Century Fox next month — added a new twist to his earlier denial of Mr. Egan’s claims.

“We now have documentary evidence proving that Bryan Singer was not in Hawaii during the time period he was alleged to have been there with Michael Egan,” Mr. Singer, the lawyer, wrote in an email.

Bryan Singer, the lawyer said, was demonstrably elsewhere, working on the first “X-Men” film, on the dates in question. “Between cellphone records, credit card receipts, and Bryan’s production schedule, we know that he was never in Hawaii during the alleged time period,” he wrote.

On Saturday, Mr. Herman said he was prepared to show otherwise.

“I’ve spent the last six months interviewing witnesses,” Mr. Herman said. Of the director, he added: “I have several witnesses who can place him there.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. Singer’s lawyer challenged the veracity of any such witnesses, promising witnesses of his own to back up his client.

And in Hawaii, initial court orders in the case opened future hearings to what the court called “media blogging,” assuring minute-by-minute coverage.
