Senior partner at Boston Consulting Group, Hal Sirkin reveals that South America and Asia are no longer automatically seen as cheap manufacturing bases.
The USA has seen stabilised wages for workers and increased production. This, coupled with cheaper energy bills, is making the USA more attractive to manufacturers.
Mr Sirkin says that over 300 companies have brought work back to the country that was in Asia, a sign of what he calls the 'manufacturing renaissance'.
