JD Sports has enjoyed a rise in sales and profits over the last year as its stores have focused on trainers and sports fashion, in contrast to rival Sports Direct and its focus on pricing.
As well as owning JD stores, the company runs Blacks, Millets and Bank outlets. Mike Ashley, the founder of rival Sports Direct, owns more than 10pc of the company.
